I cut white sugar out years ago because coming up my parents would buy several 5 lb + packs and go through it like crazy and then buy more and always had sweets in the house as well my dad would have so much sugar in his coffee you could see the crystals floating on the top that's when I made the decision to not eat anymore white sugar that was 40 years ago give or take I love unsweetened tea and I won't drink any sweetened tea or drinks it's like drinking syrup to me and I gave up eating sweets for the most part except for the holidays I will have something that is usually portioned out single size that I get at the grocery store because I don't do any baking I haven't done any for several years now I know at least 30 years I don't miss it I keep frozen fruit mainly berries in my freezer and I have peanut butter crackers and I love cheese it but I limit myself to those snacks and I love the laughing cow cheese on crackers but it's all in moderation
I don't weigh myself much anymore maybe once a month or so on the same day each time I mainly go by what the doctors office scale says I learned not to let the numbers on the scale get to me because it doesn't represent of who I am or all the hard work I put into staying healthy because it may not show up on the scale so I don't sweat it when I weigh on the scale

Sorry, I admit I am kind of laughing. But in a nice way. As I can't say I have not binged out on sweets or junk food. I give you at least credit for admitting it also. I have very little will power now living alone where I can eat without guilt of having someone watching me. Many foods I can control in moderation. But a few,.nope can't eat just one, or just half. So, I now just don't buy the foods that I know will be tempting but not good for me. Such as sweets, chips, etc. Though salty type foods are more tempting to me than sweets. I love chips of all kinds, and crackers. And cheese !! Does not mean I never eat them, but at least it is a lot less when not having them handy at home. I don't know your living status, but if you can stop buying these things, best to do it. Make a shopping list and stick to it. The truth about sugar though is like a drug. It is very addicting. The more you eat, the more you will crave it. I can't stress enough the health benefits of cutting back on all that sugar. But most people know that already but are addicted. I used to not be able to eat oatmeal, etc. or drink coffee or tea without putting sugar in it. And drank non-diet sodas. I gave up adding any sugar to anything about 30yrs ago (I am 79yr old now.) Now I can't see how anyone can drink sweet tea. LOL I also very seldom drink a coke (way too sweet), and only diet when I do. I used to work at a Sheriff's Dept. and my job often took me into the corrections division (the county jail). The cooks had to keep the sugar locked up to keep the kitchen inmate workers from "stealing" it. Drug addicts will crave sugar when they can't have drugs. Good luck to you .

I just got done eating 3 Kit Kat bars and a bunch of cheese-its. They were so good, but now I could kick myself for eating all of them. I can't stop though. I love sugar.
