Anyone Else Have Issues With Arch, Heel, Knee, And Shin Pain?

A MyObesityTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had issues with arch and heel pain since I was 150lbs and about 31-32% body fat. While I wasn't obese, I was overweight then. I'm currently 170lbs and 34-35% body fat according to calipers. I'm considered obese. I was 182lbs and 36% body fat back in early Febuary. Due to my low arches on my feet, if I stand for a long period of time, I get sharp and stabbing pain in my arches, heels, balls of my feet, and sometimes it extends to my knees and shins. HI Ren. I had two career jobs that required me standing on my feet for the majority of the day. 25yrs of wearing hospital scrubs and then at a Sheriff's Dept. I found it sure makes a difference on what kind of shoes one wears. And how bad it is to go barefoot , wear flat shoes, sandals, flip flops, etc. especially on cement or tile floors. I love the now stretch top shoes with thicker heels ,cushion soles and high arch insoles. As find even though I buy expensive walking shoes, the one with laces seems to make the top part of my feet burn more for some reason. Even when I loosen them. Thinking it may also be the pressure from the seams ? Around the house, I wear orthopedic type of slip on sandals. Thick rubber soles and molded more to the feet for comfort. A persons heels takes a lot of pressure on them just by walking. A podiatrist once gave me some really nice soft rubber heel cushions to put in my shoes. After me complaining of pain in my heel and ache area. Made big difference. Soaking my feet in warm Epson Salt water also helped. And when sitting down, elevate your feet. Best wishes to you. Linda

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I was considering getting some insole supports for my shoes, as I always wear gym shoes everyday. I honestly think the issue is because of my lower arches, but my mom has higher arches, and she said she had issues before.
