Does Anyone Here Suffer From IBS And GERD?
Just looking for others who suffer from IBS and GERD and see thoughts, concerns, suggestions etc
I was just diagnosed with it two weeks ago and am struggling to learn what to eat and how to eat. After 2 weeks in the hospital and months of pain any time I eat it is a struggle. How do you manage it? I'm learning to eat very slowly and small amounts. Also I can't watch tv or read or I end up eating too fast and in pain.
I Suffer From Both IBS And GERD And They Can Both Be Very Overwhelming And Difficult To Manage At Times. I Currently Take Protonix For My GERD And It Keeps It Under Control For The Most Part But There Are Times When It Still Flares Up Especially When I Eat Too Much Chocolate Or Spicy Food. When My GERD Is Bad The Acid Causes Severe Burning Sensations In My Throat, Nose, Eyes, And To My Lips And It Takes Quite Some Time To Get Back On Track. As Far As My IBS Goes It's Been Somewhat Difficult To Tie My Flare Ups To Certain Foods Because I Can Eat Something And Be Absolutely Fine And The 3 Times After That, Then On That 5th Time I All of A Sudden End Up Doubled Over In The Bathroom. One Day I Didn't Eat Anything All Day, I Then Ate A Piece Of Hard Candy And Ended Up Doubled Over Yet Again. IBS Is Definitely No Friend Of Mine!!!
I have IBS. Was diagnosed 2 years ago. I spent time learning my trigger food. Cannot eat Baja as at all and have to watch how much, cheese, red meat, fresh fruits I eat and I am fine. But also cannot Eat if I travel very far or need to run around. Like if I go to my brothers or mother's house ,which is 45 minutes away, I cannot Eat or drink all day because I never know when I will hit and I have to be near a restroom. People do not understand why I stay near home now. I have learned to work with it, because if I don't, it really lets me know.
Yes I have IBS, acid reflux but I had it when i was thinner... Its annoying more than anything to me..
I have IBS. My doctors assistant told me to learn My trigger foods, note the portion size then cut it back until it doe not effective c.f. me. That is what I have done with fruits and vegetables. I know now the portion I can tolerate. I work my diet around that.
